Surface preparation standards
Surface preparation to specified blasting standards
Our abrasive blasting work can be carried out to specified surface preparation standards according to the coating system, substrate and project requirements. Our minimum blasting standard is Sa 2½, with higher preparation levels available where specified. Standards may include Sa 2½, Sa 3, SSPC-SP 6 and SSPC-SP 10.
Sa 2½
Very thorough blast cleaning commonly specified for industrial protective coating systems.
Sa 3
Blast cleaning to a visually clean steel surface where a higher preparation level is required.
SSPC Standards
Preparation can also be carried out to specified SSPC requirements, including SSPC-SP 6 and SSPC-SP 10.
